About
What legacy do you want to leave?
At four years old, I dreamt of playing baseball. So I went to do it! Unfortunately, for the league I had to play in, you had to be at least five years old. Upon understanding this news, I did what any logical four year old would do to enact change in their life. I cried. Loudly. And while rolling on the ground. So naturally, I got what I wanted: they let me in early! That was the first way I learned to achieve goals, but it’s not the way I’m here to tell you about.
I went on to have a long baseball career playing through college and abroad and ultimately coached at Biola University for eight years. That planted the first seeds of coaching in my life.
I believe in this world—more specifically, I believe in each and every one of the individuals that make up this world. We all have some type of vision for how we want it to be different, myself included. I began attempting to bring positive impact to it by becoming a 9-1-1 dispatcher in 2013. While there was plenty of fulfillment and purpose in that career, after about ten years, I began to feel a different type of tug on my heart. I had been doing everything I could to help people on their worst days when I answered that phone, but I had this feeling that there was a large contingent of people who needed a different type of help. The difference is it felt like there were far less people out there offering it. I thought this because I felt it myself. I was okay, but I was struggling with hitting a plateau and being stuck in neutral. I didn’t know how to escape it.
So I acted.
With nudging from my wife (I was stuck in neutral after all, plus we can all use a little help getting to where we want to be), I enrolled in a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology course. This course taught going north of neutral, or otherwise stated: how to set and achieve your goals.
I then took my experience with coaching sports as well as the desire to help others and the world, and I settled on moving forward with the type of Coaching I want to bring to you:
